School Policy for Illness

 

GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES:
Children with an infectious or contagious disease should stay home until the danger of transmitting the disease has passed.

FEVER: (100.0 DEGREES or greater): student must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school.

STREP SORE THROAT: re-admit after 24 hours from date antibiotic treatment started.

HEAD LICE: re-admit when student is free of lice and nits.

VOMITING or DIARRHEA: your child should stay at home if they have these symptoms during the night or in the morning. Students who get sent home from school must be free from vomiting and or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of medication.

PINK EYE (CONJUNCTIVITIS): re-admit with doctor's written statement.
